External IPDFs / NPDFs Application :

Instruction for the prospective External IPDF / NPDF candidates :

Please note the following :

1. We consider applications from candidates who have either obtained their Ph. D. degree in the last two years or submitted their Ph. D. thesis and are awaiting the defense. Your application will not be considered if you have defended your thesis more than two years ago.
2. Minimum eligibility criterion for candidates to be considered is to have at least three publications in journals with impact factor of 2.0 or more. The candidate must be a first author/ joint first author/ corresponding author in at least one of these papers. Exceptions may be made for candidates with a paper in a journal of impact factor of more than 5.5.
3. Before filling this form, please contact faculty members of our department whose work interests you. Make sure that one of the faculty member is interested in hosting you as a postdoctoral fellow. Without this, your application will not be considered.

Internal IPDFs Application :

Instruction for the prospective Internal IPDF candidates :

Please note the following :

1. The applicants should have a minimum of two publications while applying for the internal IPDF position.
2. Students should have submitted their thesis within 6 years of joining (7 years for M.Sc.- Ph.D./ M.Tech.-Ph.D.).
3. Internal IPDF applicants are eligible to apply for IPDF after they submit their theses and within 3 months of the date of defense.
4. While the candidature is considered, the candidates should not have not taken up any position outside IIT Bombay.
5. The IPDF positions for all internal candidates will be strictly for six months.
