Protecting Group Free Synthesis: Improving Economy and Efficiency, Editor Rodney A. Fernandes, John Wiley & Sons, August 2018.


The book presents a comprehensive account of established protecting-group-free synthetic routes to molecules of medium to high complexity. Over 100 total syntheses are covered in this book based on protecting-group-free strategies. Natural products, drugs, pharmaceuticals, heterocycles, carbohydrates, glyco-peptides, glyco-conjugates and glyco-polymers are covered in 9 chapters. The book is graced with forewords by Prof. R. Hoffmann and Prof. G. Mehta. Published in May 2018 (e-first) and hardcopy in August 2018 .

Prof. Rodney A. Fernandes served as Dean Academic and Faculty Affairs at IIT-Goa, Goa from 01st August 2017 to 31st July 2018. Acting Director, IIT Goa (09-14 January 2018).
