Important:

  • Helpdesk & Information Counters – Central helpdesk near entrance, additional mobile kiosks for guidance, transport, and lost-and-found
  • Entry/exit checks with ID verification and reserved right to entry
  • Alcohol & Smoking Policy – Alcohol prohibited; smoking permitted only in designated campus areas
  • Feeding or handling strays discouraged; report issues to campus security; no personal pets allowed inside venue
  • October weather in Mumbai can be hot and humid with possible rains; carry umbrellas, light clothing, water bottles
  • Sustainability & Waste Management – Use reusable bottles, proper waste segregation bins, and avoid single-use plastics
  • Transport, Parking & Mobility – Use shuttle services, park only in designated zones; follow traffic volunteers' instructions
  • Code of Conduct & Responsible Behavior – Respectful professional conduct, zero tolerance for harassment, follow instructions from staff/security

Helpdesk & Information Counters

  • Main Helpdesk: Convention Centre lobby (8 AM – 8 PM)
  • Services: Lost-and-found, session guidance, medical coordination, reporting incidents, local transport queries
  • Mobile Kiosks: Near cafeteria, poster halls, shuttle stops
  • Multilingual Support: Hindi, Marathi, English-speaking volunteers available

General Safety & Evacuation Protocols

  • Emergency exits clearly signposted; follow green arrows
  • Evacuation drills conducted on Day 1 morning
  • Assembly Points: Main parking ground and open sports ground
  • Fire extinguishers and alarms are operational; report any tampering
  • First aid kits available at all helpdesks and key halls

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Entry/Exit: Badge + Govt. ID compulsory
  • Baggage Check: Mandatory screening; large bags not allowed inside halls
  • Restricted Access: Labs, hostels, classrooms outside event scope
  • Lost Items: Hand over immediately to Helpdesk

Health & Medical Facilities

  • Onsite Medical Station: Convention Centre Ground Floor
  • Ambulance: On standby during entire event

  • Alcohol: Strictly prohibited on IIT Bombay campus

  • IIT Bombay is a secure residential campus
  • Security patrols and CCTV surveillance active
  • Attendees must display badges at all times
  • Avoid isolated/lake-side areas after dark
  • Shuttle buses are available at night

Pets & Stray Animal Protocol

  • Campus has friendly but unpredictable cows, stray dogs and cats
  • Feeding/handling is discouraged for safety
