Talk Title : "Selective Functionalization using Methanol ".
Abstract
For the synthesis of various functionalized molecules, utilization of readily available methanol as a building block is indisputably atom economical and greener strategy compare to the conventional methods. Employing methanol as a sustainable building block, we have reported tandem transformation of various functional groups to the corresponding N-methylated amines, α-branched methylated ketones, methylated alcohols, and heterocycles. Methanol can act as a C1 source and/or hydrogen source. In this talk I will discuss how we can employ methanol for the selective transformations.1 Catalyst design, practical application facets and mechanistic investigation of these catalytic systems will be presented.
