Abstract
Use of renewable feedstocks as alternatives to fossil fuels to develop clean technologies is one of the serious societal concern and global challenge. To foster such challenges the adaptation in catalytic system is of prime importance. Traditional heterogeneous catalyst composed of nanoparticles immobilized on surfaces need to be gradually evolved/transformed based on the catalytic reaction targeted. In this direction, the synthesis of versatile catalytic system which involves predesigned molecular modifiers both for the stabilization of nanoparticles as well for tuning the reactivity and activity of nanoparticles was developed. The aim is to achieve selective and controlled catalysis by fine tuning the catalytic system. In particular, the application of such systems in hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis will be discussed .
