Talk Title : "Glycotyping: a highway of chemical glycobiology".
Abstract
The chemical structural types of glycans (glycotypes) are targets of biological phenomena involving cell surface interactions, such as infection, differentiation, cancer, and immunity. This glycotype formation is a post-translational modification that involves complex branching pathways and is difficult to interpret linearly from gene sequences. Our group has established original glycotyping techniques by the complementary development of efficient synthesis techniques for glycan type candidates and rapid analysis techniques for biological samples. In this presentation, I will introduce recent results of MALDI and microarray "glycotyping", as well as their concepts and prospects.
