Art and Science are often considered to be mutually exclusive. But the best scientific discoveries often happen when the artist overwhelms the scientist. By using simple definitions of Art and Science and focusing on the "process" of science and art, rather than the final product, I will try to connect the two. Using a number of examples where new concepts were developed in science, the talk will attempt to identify cases where scientific discoveries could not have happened without Art.
