Talk Title : "Large scale homogeneous catalysis @ BASFs"
Abstract
Homogeneous catalysis is a crucial technology at BASF, enabling the production of various organic chemicals on a scale exceeding 3 million tons annually. The range of products synthesized using homogeneous catalysis includes petrochemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and agrochemicals. This presentation will offer an overview of several key processes involved, such as hydroformylation, carbonylation, asymmetric hydrogenation, and cross coupling. It will also highlight recent advancements and provide examples of exploratory research conducted in collaboration with academic institutions.
