I shall give a brief account of computational approaches to heterogeneous catalysis. Thereafter, I shall touch upon our approaches to three reactions on appropriate surfaces, namely, Methane dissociation and oxygen evolution reactions in acidic and alkaline medium. Finally, I shall talk on metal free frustrated Lewis pair based catalysis of small molecules activations and hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds to the corresponding secondary alcohols.
