Talk Title : "The Nature of Scientific Publishing"
Abstract
Bryden Le Bailly is a Senior Editor at Nature. He joined the journal in November 2016 as the editor responsible for handling scientific research at the interface of chemistry and biology, after working at Nature Nanotechnology as a locum editor. As well as being responsible for publishing high-impact research, Bryden works closely with his journalistic and editorial colleagues in disseminating the implications of these studies to the broader scientific community. Prior to becoming an editor, he spent several years in chemical research, completing his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2016, followed by a post-doctoral/lab manager position at the University of Bristol. First working on iron catalysis, Bryden then investigated signal transduction through cell membranes using synthetic receptors, for which he received a STEM for Britain award from members of the Houses of Parliament.
