Talk Title : "Emerging contaminants of water : Game of constant catch up?"
Abstract
This interactive discussion would focus on the most abundant, most essential, most mismanaged and one of the planet's greatest natural resource - Water. Anthopogenically triggered emerging and dangerous class of xenobiotic contaminants have reached ocean depths of nearly 11000 m (Mariana Trench). Newer and versatile ways of analyzing water and detecting these contaminants is in demand. This talk would focus on few of the approaches that enable early detection of such chemically-silent contaminants. It would leave an open question - is the water you drink safe?
