Abstract
Resurgence of Interest in Non-crystalline Coordination Polymers
Coordination Polymers (CPs) are composed of arrays of metal centers connected by organic ligands extending in one, two, or three dimensions. CPs are extensively studied in their crystalline states by the virtue of their designer nature and open framework structure for a range of applications. While CP chemistry stems from the avoidance of the amorphous phase, recently amorphous CPs have gained considerable attention. Especially, the discovery of glassy and liquids state of CPs has opened a new research avenue from the fundamental and advanced application perspective. In this webinar, I will discuss the various routes to induce glassy natures in CPs and present framework chemistry as a versatile tool to modulate CP glass properties and functions.
